Weleda Frost Cream is a natural homeopathic remedy effective in relieving the discomfort of chilblains. Chilblains is a painful inflammation of small blood vessels and are found on fingers, ears, nose and more commonly, toes. It usually develops on skin that is exposed to cold and is then warmed up too quickly. As the area is warmed up too quickly, congestion causes swelling, redness and pain.
Common signs and symptoms of chilblains usually include small, itchy red areas on your skin, burning sensation, swelling and changes in skin colour from red to dark blue, accompanied by pain.
Weleda Frost Cream helps to relieve chilblains by stimulating peripheral blood circulaton and brings warmth to the affected areas. It has an anti-inflammatory effect on the associated discomfort and nerve pain, and also helps remove the swelling.
Weleda Frost Cream contains the following active ingredients:
Southernwood (Artemisia abrotanum) - stimulates the circulation. The herb has been used traditionally to treat severe inflammation.
Arnica - stimulates circulation by stimulating blood flow. It also has soothing anti-inflammatory properties.
Cochlearia (Horseradish) - A circulatory stimulant.
Hypericum (St. John's Wort) - Provides pain relief to nerve endings.
Nettle (Urtica urens) - Soothes burning, itching pain.
Balsam of Peru - Antiseptic and regnerative properties.
