Salvestrols are a class of natural compounds found in plants/foods, secondary plant metabolites or phytonutrients, safely eaten in the diet. Salvestrols are considered to be a food prodrug, becoming activated inside DNA damaged/diseased human cells by an enzyme CYP1B1 (pronounced “sip one bee one”) causing such DNA damaged/diseased cells to stop growing or die without harming normal cells.
