A Phase 3 Randomized Trial of Nicotinamide for Skin-Cancer Chemoprevention from the OnTRAC study published in the New England Journal of Medicines October 2015 found that among high-risk patients, taking nicotinamide 500mg twice daily was associated with a lower rate of new nonmelanoma skin cancers (squamous cell carcinoma and basal cell carcinoma).
