Elevit DHA & Choline Pregnancy is a scientific formula with 200 mg plant- sourced omega-3 and 110g choline to support placenta health and the healthy brain development of your growing baby.
Omega-3s are important components of cell membranes. During pregnancy and breastfeeding, nutritional requirements for DHA are increased as DHA is utilised for the normal development of the brain, nervous system and eyes of the growing foetus and baby.
The first 1000 days of a baby's life, from conception, is a critical period for brain and eye development. While DHA plays a key role in this, most pregnant and breastfeeding women do not get enough through diet alone as they can be cautious about eating fish during this time.
Choline is an essential nutrient that is required by the body for many steps in metabolism, cell formation and repair, it is not made in adequate quantities by the body and must be obtained through diet. The need for choline increases in pregnancy as it plays an important role in a baby’s early brain development, as well as supporting maternal placenta health.
