Hiprex contains an effective antibacterial ingredient, hexamine hippurate to help suppress or eliminate bacteria in the urine that causes urinary tract infection.
Hiprex works best in an acidic environment and should not be used in conjunction with urinary alkalinizers (e.g. Ural) as the effectiveness of Hiprex may be impaired.
Urinary tract infection (UTI) refers to infection anywhere within the urinary system. A UTI can range from an infection of the bladder to an infection of the kidney. Common symptoms include:
- burning or painful feeling when urinating,
- feeling an urge to urinate urgently, but being unable to or only passing a few drops.
Ingredients
Active ingredient per tablet:
Hexamine hippurate 1g
NO sugar, lactose, gluten, sodium and artificial colours.
Directions
Adults - Take 1 tablet twice daily after food.
Children (6 - 12 years) - Take 1/2 tablet to 1 tablet twice daily.
May be taken with or without food.
While taking Hiprex, ensure that you drink plenty of water and full emptying of the bladder.
Warning
To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of HIPREX and other antibacterial drugs, HIPREX should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria.
Discontinue use and consult your doctor if the condition worsens or persists for more than 48 hours.
