Oilatum Plus is an emollient with dual antibacterial action. While it restores skin hydration, it also reduces troublesome bacteria levels on the skin. Oilatum Plus is intended to control eczema flare-ups and to minimise their recurrence.
The bacteria Staphylococcus aureus have been linked to a worsening or flare up of the eczema. Oilatum Plus contains two antibacterial agents benzalkonium chloride and triclosan with proven efficacy against Staphylococcus aureus, the principal causative organism in infected eczemas.
Oilatum Plus contains a moisturising emollient which works by providing a protective layer of oil on the surface of the skin to prevent water evaporating from the skin surface. This helps the skin to retain moisture and relieves itching and irritation and reduces roughness and scaling.
Oilatum Plus is an effective cleanser and a soap substitute. It contains no perfume or colouring to irritate the skin.
Directions
Use once daily or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. Always dilute Oilatum Plus with water before use.
Bath: In an 8 inch bath, add 4 capfuls. In an 4 inch bath, add 2 capfuls.
Infant bath: Add 1ml (just sufficient to cover the bottom of the cap and mix well water water).
Soak for 10 to 15 minutes, gently pat skin dry with a clean towel and moisturise with a moisturiser.
Warning
Not recommended for babies younger than 6 months.
Avoid contact of the undiluted product with the eyes and skin. If there is persistent irritation, stop treatment and consult your doctor.
Take care to avoid slipping in the bath.
